LNG procurement
To increase the security of gas supply, the German government has provided THE with financial resources to procure LNG and store it in gas storage facilities in the German market area (including the 7 Fields storage facility located in Austria).
THE was always in close coordination with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK). In accordance with the order, THE began procurement immediately after the conclusion of the contract.
A double-digit number of interested parties and bidders took part in the process. The contracted gas quantities are made available to THE in the agreed storage facilities.
Upon conclusion of the framework agreement, Trading Hub Europe published an award notice in the supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union.
